Faculty of Postgraduate Education organized in 1955. Today the structure and volume of the faculty ranks third among institutions of postgraduate education after Kiev and Kharkov medical academies of postgraduate education. It is composed of three divisions: internship (primary specialization) unit training and retraining and self-supporting department. The faculty are 23 departments and 14 courses with branches 6 departments have branches in Lutsk.; Department of Rehabilitation and Alternative Medicine has a branch in. centers. The faculty are professors and 38 doctors and 196 candidates, including 118 professors. Among the professors teaching faculty has 2 Honored Science and Technology, Honored Three high school, 2 member of the Academy of Higher Education, 5 full members of the other branch academies, 6 Honored doctors of Ukraine.
The main tasks of the faculty in the field of education are:
primary specialization graduates of medical (pharmaceutical) educational institutions III-IV accreditation internship;
receiving doctor or pharmacist osvitnokvalifikatsiynoho level professional Master of Medicine (pharmacy) during the internship with a certain specialization;
retraining doctor (pharmacist) – Specialist awarded the title of doctor (pharmacist) – second degree in the specialty (secondary specialization);
training of physicians (pharmacists) through cycles of thematic improvement cycles and pre-;
training of physicians (pharmacists) who had a break in their prac cal activity or fails qualified;
assisting authorities and healthcare in activities of continuing postgraduate education.
The primary specialization in internship carried out in 25 specialties, training and retraining of specialists – in 73 specialties. Enrollment of students in all cycles in 2005 amounted to 9582 people, including internship – 1084, on cycles of specialization (training) – 556, in the course of Advanced Training – 1935, on ne redatestatsiynyh cycles – 4942, on probation – 152 persons.
During 2000-2005. Departments on the instructions MH Ukraine produced 17 standardized curriculum and benchmark test programs with 5 specialties.
Faculty departments and courses conducted considerable work on the development and publication navchalnometodychnyh materials for interns and students. During 2000-2005. At the Faculty prepared and published: textbooks – 14 textbooks – 64, the term logical vocabulary – 6; 90 guidelines to lectures, teaching materials for workshops and seminars, including the Ministry of Health approved CMC Ukraine – 26.
Departments covering 17 specialties of medicine and pharmacy. 14 departments have their naukovopedahohichni school, which trained 58 doctors and 268 candidates.
During 2000-2005. At faculty were protected 9 doctoral theses. Graduate students defended 21 candidate dissertations, faculty staff – 24 applicants and practicing doctors – 6. During the same period, prepared by 39 experts osvitnokvalifikatsiynym level “master of medicine / pharmacy.”
The results naukovodoslidnytskyh work during 2000-2005. 86 departments proposed methods of diagnosis, 94 and 35 treatments methods of preventing various diseases. Received 45 patents and licenses inventions. For three years published 33 books (12 of them approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine). In scientific journals and collections published about 450 articles and 600 abstracts of scientific papers, including 58 international editions and 146, respectively.
